I am trying to make a simple code that will execute a user defined function twice per day, once at 9:30 a.m. when the market opens, and once more at 3:55 just about 5 minutes before close. The goal is that my defined trader() function will pull live data each time it is triggered, and I can use the two different price points to simply determine the daily change of a stock. I want to keep this code running in the background for a long time so I can develop my own back testing dataset. The trader() function that I coded works just fine, and collects all the data I need, but the standby() function seems to not want to work with me. Am I doing this in the right way?
The biggest issue is that it seems to simply roll right over those time stamps without executing the trader() function, but otherwise prints out the notifications. Any ideas?
