Thought experiment: what would happen to the markets if RenTec and other highly successful hedge funds publicly shared all their “secret sauces” including their algorithms? How would the markets start to change afterwards?

It may sound like a stupid hypothetical question but I hope some of us less smart members here can learn something insightful from this discussion.
